The age of information…

March 31st, 2009 |

One of the coolest things about having your own website is that you get to see exactly who is coming to your website. You don’t really get to see exactly who is coming but you definately get an idea. The statistics pages on all websites gives you very specific information about all of your visitors including the exact time, the duration of the visit and the specific IP address of the person who visits, along with information about which browser and operating systems they use. Generally if you know much about scripting language you can get even more information, like for instance the users login name on that system and sometime boring information like their initials that they use with the microsoft office suite of applications. From time to time the visitor’s IT managers forget to lock a port here or there and all of a sudden the flow of information is amazing. Since I suspect most of the people reading this already know what I’m talking about I thought I’d share a tiny little piece of information that is collected on a pretty regular basis from not only my website but most of the rest of my families websites. Here for your viewing pleasure is a tiny little piece of what it is I’m talking about…

James B Nutter

I of course blotted out some of the information to protect the guilty but I just thought it might be nice for all of those of you who regularly surf the net think that all of the time you spend visiting websites is in total privacy or anonanimity. Guess what? You are being watched. Jumping from website to website all day long.

Have a nice day!

Back by popular demand!

Who would have thought it? I had people asking me when the website was going to be back up and running. Not the people I expected either. I mean I know I get tons of hits from “jamesbnutter.com” and I see folks dropping by from “sprintpcs.com” all the time but this was genuine people I talk to on a regular basis asking where the website was. Here’s the deal. I had used 1and1.com for web hosting for the past several years. They seemed to treat me ok but as time passed on I became more and more of a number. So I switched to a great new host called lunarpages.com and now I feel like a real customer again. Anyway I’ll work on getting all the stuff working again and all of you who had access to see all of the websites cool features will be able to see them again. All of you who didn’t have access should ask. Maybe I’ll let you in! It’s nice to be back online again. thanks for asking about the site!
